While the transmission of the data in an email is a bit of a security concern, the real issue is how the emails are stored and persisted over time. Usually, as a company, you need to restrict access, follow one of the many protection standards and put multiple levels of technical protection in place in order to avoid liability. ![]() As a company, in many states, it's becoming or already is illegal to mishandle PII. Its never been safe to send Personal Identifying Information via email. I know this is old, but I don't think its quite clear.
